You may order a completed stone sundial or you may order just the sundial design drawing so that you can make your own sundial using the drawings and instructions we send you. All my sundials and sundial design drawings are custom-made, commissioned works based on the latitude and longitude of the sundial's location and each customer's particular tastes and requirements of type, shape, size, artwork, extra options and budget.

Choosing a Sundial Design

People love visiting my sundial studio to personally discuss their orders with me and to see my demo dials. If you are unable to visit my studio, you can select the type of sundial you want by clicking here for Prices. To select the artwork for your design, click on Artwork (PDF) Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader and/or Photos. Because of all the graphics, these are long downloads so please be patient. Or if you have an idea for your own artwork, send me a drawing or photo, and I'll let you know if we can use it.

About Prices

The price includes a copy of the very informative Sundial Owner's Manual and a weather-resistant copy of The Equation of Time. You will need to provide your own sundial support pedestal for stone sundials, easily found at local fountain or garden centers. Or, you can custom-make your own.

As design options, we offer custom stone shapes, gold plating on brass parts, thick gnomons and special stone types. But these may cost extra. Please ask.

Prices do not include sundial packaging and shipping costs.

Information We Need From You

1. Your name, mailing address, e-mail address, and telephone number.
2. The location for your sundial (street address and city, or Zip Code).
3. The type of sundial you want.
4. The artwork you want on your sundial.
5. The time notation you want on your sundial (Standard Time or Daylight Saving Time).
6. Extra options (gold-plated brass, thick gnomon, special stone shape or type)

Payment

After we have thoroughly discussed your sundial design and finalized your order, Sundial Sculptures must receive your payment before I begin the drawings. I will send you a precise drawing of your sundial for your inspection and approval before I begin sundial construction.

For stone sundials: We require a 50% non-refundable deposit when ordering sundial with the balance due upon completion, before shipping. Sundial Sculptures will return your deposit only in the unlikely event that we are unable to complete your order.

For sundial design drawings only: Full payment is due upon ordering drawings.

You may pay by cash, check, or money order made out to Sundial Sculptures. (Please do not send any payment until you have discussed and finalized your order with John Carmichael).

Packing, Shipping & Installation

We will deliver and install 25", 32" and 40" sundials in Tucson at no charge, and in Phoenix for $300 (USD).

If you live elsewhere, you may arrange your own sundial transportation or let our recommended shipping agent charge you the going rate for packing, shipping and insurance. We will not install sundials in other areas except by special arrangement. However, you can easily install your own sundial by following the supplied instructions.

Completion Date

Depending on how many orders are on the waiting list and the type of sundial you order, the completion date will be at least six weeks or more from the date we receive your deposit. We will give you a rough estimate of the completion date when you place your order.
